Overview

Meteor Shower - Planet Guardian is an endless arcade game that encompasses defending your planet from a deadly meteor shower. You control the world's lone guardian, whose sole purpose is to protect the world from any threat. But beware of the wicked armada of aliens whose mission is to abduct you and destroy your home. Don't let any meteors make contact with your planet or any aliens abduct you, or it's game over.

Gameplay

Meteor Shower revolves around defending your world from meteors by hitting them with your character and destroying them. To control your character, hold the left and right sides of the screen. Holding the right side will rotate your character clockwise while holding the left side will rotate your character counter-clockwise. Powerups will randomly show up during the game. Touch them with your character to activate them for 10 seconds. Aliens also appear randomly and will attempt to abduct you with a tractor beam. This beam lasts for 15 seconds, during which you cannot make contact with it or you will get abducted. Then, left undefended, your planet will be destroyed by meteors.

Powerups

Powerups appear during the game randomly. By default, they have a 1 in 20 chance to appear, but the probability of a powerup appearing increases as the game progresses. When they appear, you can activate them for 10 seconds by touching them with your character. If you do not reach the powerup within 4 seconds of when it appears, it will disappear and the probability of getting another powerup will reset.

Coins

Coins (pictured above) are used to purchase items, such as costumes, in the shop. They are earned by unlocking achievements and destroying meteors. While playing the game, the amount of coins earned in the current round (your score) is displayed at the top left corner of the screen. At the end of every round, you gain that number of coins. Your total number of coins is displayed in the shop.

Shop

The shop is where you can use coins to purchase costumes to customize your planet. Currently, there are 20 different costumes available in the shop. Their prices range from 800 - 1600 coins. The 3 most expensive costumes (clock, spinner, plane) feature moving parts that spin as your character rotates around the planet.

Achievements

Achievements give you coins when unlocked, as well as changing the default lock on the achievement to a unique image. There are currently 22 achievements to unlock in the game. The achievements are unlocked based on how meteors destroyed, points scored, abductions survived, rounds played, and powerups collected.

Statistics

The statistics page is full of different statistics that can help you track your progress on achievements. The current statistics are meteors destroyed, powerups collected, abductions survived, aliens zapped, rounds played, and achievements unlocked. Your statistics are wiped when you choose to reset your data via the settings menu.
